Wikipedia states that Cash on delivery (COD) or collect on delivery is also a kind of sale by mail order. This is the form of sale where payment is received with delivery. When there is no pay, goods are returned back to the retailer. According to me, the main benefit of COD as a customer is that your customers can pay only after they get the product in hand. The other important advantage of cash on delivery is that it doesn’t depend upon credit or debit cards. This factor is helpful in suburban or rural areas, where many people do not use cards. This option also attracts a lot of customers.

First login into Shopify admin account.

Step 1:Navigate through the payment section of Shopify. Click Settings located at the bottom left corner of the page, then select Payments on the options.

Step 2: After clicking the setting option then click on payments.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Add Manual Payment Methods and click the drop-down then select Cash on Delivery (COD).

Step 4:  From the list of options provided, select the Cash On Delivery option.

Step 5: Add the Additional Details. This is where you will be describing how the COD payment process works. Enter any information that you want to be shown next to the payment method in your checkout.

Next is to Add the Payment instructions Enter the instructions that you want your customer to follow to pay for the order.

Step 6: your payment method is successfully activated.
