It’s wise to copy a theme before customizing it so that you have a copy in case you don’t like the custom modifications you are making. This way, you’ll easily start over. In the Shopify admin, there are up to 20 different themes. That number includes themes that are repeated. Therefore, you will need to delete one of your 20 themes before you can duplicate another.

Step 1: Go to Shopify admin and select Online Store > Themes.

Step 2: Click the 3 Dots for the theme you want to duplicate.

Step 3: Select Duplicate from the drop-down menu.

The theme will be listed as a “copy of” along with its name in your themes library once it has been duplicated.
